Techical Problems Nearly Wiped Out
« on: May 28, 2005, 11:54:48 PM »

My system runs on XP Pro and AHP 3.186, and
a Diagonostic replacement CM15A. Recently,
I've been plagued with various
unexplainable problems. More than one light
turning ON at a time, Macros not doing too
well and I was just generally DISGUSTED, as
some of you are.
I decided to purchase an AMPLIFIER/REPEATER
(discussed in other POSTS). It plugged into
my dryer 220VAC outlet. I expected it to
work GREAT GUNS, but it did not.
Here is why:
I had 2 #TM751 RF units installed, as well
as my CM15A. The Tm751s were to receive Rf
at the other end of my home than the CM15A,
for the 2 House Codes I was monitoring.
Previously, I had noticed the TM751s had to
be critically placed. I guessed that it was
Phase related or maybe a time delay between
the TM751 and the CM15A screwing up the
TRUE transmitted code. Today, after
installing my new AMP/REPEATER I unplugged
both of my TM751s, because of past
questionable operation of my system.

WAHLA !!!!!  My system works EXACTLY as I
programmed it. I have around 35 pieces of
hardware and Macros. I have excellent range
with my Palm Pad and sensors. My home is
about 70 foot long. It finally NEAT to have
some level of confidence after 7 months of
work and grief. I hope this helps
even "one" person out there.

The TM751s are not polite and will step on
any X10 line signals with the ones it wants
to send. The big brother RR501 will wait for
a clear power line before transmitting any
X10 signals. The cm15a also is polite and
should retransmit a clobbered transmission
from a TM751. Duplicates may happen if both
the cm15a and an RR501 both see the RF
remote commands

i had same situation, had two other
transcievers to help with poor RF range,
once in a while weird things happened, got
a different antenna with more range,
removed transcievers, now all is well, no
problems in weeks, got tired of known
problems with AHP software, installed a
different box, gave my CM15A to a friend
with tiny house and 5 lamp modules, it is
been working fine for him, keep your
fingers crossed, heh, heh.
