How does iWitness compare to the combo of
webview, mulitview + xray?  Am I better off
going with iWitness + 1 cam or the others +
3 cams?

ActiveHome Pro with the iWitness plug-in has
many more features than the MultiView/WebView
combo, or XRay Vision.

With iWitness you get the same 4-camera view
you do in Multiview, but you also can control
Ninja Pan/Tilt or Vanguard Pan/Tilt/Zoom
cameras. With iWitness you can have more than
4 cameras, and you can schedule how you want
them to behave using ActiveHome Pro macros.
You can also use macros to customize how to
respond to motion sensors and other events in
the house.

iWitness doesn't currently have Internet
viewing features, but our next plug-in in
will let you stream video over the Internet,
control cameras and lights, send e-mail, and
more.

I, for one, will be very interested in the
streaming video.

Does the CM15A have to be plugged in to your
computer to use the iWitness?

James:
Althought you can watch video/take snapshots
and auto stills without the cm15a conected
to the PC you will not be able to run any
iWitness macros, scan cams or use pan&tilt
from the viewer. Maybe if X10 eventually
adds support for the firecracker you'll be
able to. With out it connected iWitness
can't be used to its fullest.

Thanks Tuicemem, You saved me the cost of
buying the iWitness. I bought the CM15A so I
could be disconnected from the computer. I
don't want a plug-in that ties me back to
the computer again.

Adding support for a firecracker(cm17a) to
iWitness has been suggested to X10, it would
sure help sell the plugin!
