VA11A
« on: July 08, 2005, 11:09:55 PM »

I've tried everything to get WidowsXP to
recognize the VA11A to no avail.  I'm not a
neophyte when it comes to computers but can
anyone help me here.  Could the VA11A be
defective?

I'm in same way: nothing make VA11A works.
I don't think VA11A is defective but drives
are no developed for XP.
If there is some who make it works please
let us know before return it back.

Can't use my printer with video driver
installed. It steps in my printer driver.
If I goto print, it just sits there. I have
to close with Task Manager. I have a USB
Epson CX3200 all in one printer.

I had the same problem with Windows 2000 Pro.
It recognized it as a generic USB device but
not VA11A.  Sent it back.

I am having the same problem. USB
recognizes the device as an Unknown device.
Trying to install the right drives doesn't
work, as WinXP don't see them.
Any suggestions from X10 in this issue
before I send it back for a refund?

I used live chat and they told me what to do
they have smart staff. You will have to redo
everything. Remove all x10 programs that
used VA11A. Reinstall them the teem will
walk you through them and send you what you
need. They will e-mail it to you. I'm
running again. www.x10/support/support.com
click on live chat.

John:
Mine has that code on it too. I somehow
managed to load the driver last night, and
the whole thing worked, however, the minute
I unplug the USB connection and plug it
back it, the same **** happens (unknown
device, can't find driver etc.)
Frustrating. I am debating if I should just
send it back for a refund or wait six
months hoping for a software update..

Robert,

I'm sending mine back.  I was told that in
a week a new VA11A would be sent to me but
I doubt it.

Uninstall everything and reinstall. I mean
Vavgaurd, Muliview, Xray Vision, Xray Vision
Remote, I also removed cam program that
cause the problem in the first place.

We're looking at this problem, and will have
some more information soon.

If you are having problems with the VA11A,
please look in Device Manager and see how the
VA11A is listed when you plug it in. If it
shows up as "Unknown Device" or as "USB
Device" with a yellow exclamation mark in
front of it, un-plug it, and plug it in
again. If it shows up the same way, please
call or e-mail tech support for an exchange.

If you plug in the VA11A and it shows up as
Intel PC Camera Pro, you can update the
driver to the X10 driver in Program
Files\Common Files\X10\DriverInstall\VA11A
Video Capture

the VA11A disappears again.

When I get it work, the computer recognize
it as the Intel Camera Pro. Then I update
the driver and it is recognized as the
VA11A. However the minute I turn the
computer off, the device is not recognized
and the agony of recognition start all over
again.
I am pissed off at X10 for releasing a USB
device without proper drivers. It should
have been tested and certified by Microsoft
to save us from all this frustration!!
