You need to be connected to the internet!
Also make sure your firewall will allow the
AHP installer to access the internet.

I received the same error (while I was
online reading this), so it's not an
internet connection problem. Then I looked
in my hardware device manager and my pc
isn't recognizing the usb device. There is
no driver installed and there's no driver
to be found. I've tried everything to find
one, to no avail.

Yes, it's in the "other devices folder"
listed as "USB ActiveHome Interface" with a
big question mark and I've tried
reinstalling the driver but it can't find
one on my Win XP disc or anywhere.

Then it is being identified. I believe that
X10 puts an .inf file someplace in one of
its folders. Sometimes the software can't
find the .inf file from what I have read. I
may install mine shortly as I had to get my
test bed computer running. Too many hosed
messages for me to use my main computer for
X10 stuff.

Now, the x10 guy on the phone sent me a
driver that has put an inf file in the
common files directory, but my pc says it's
not the right one when I try to install it.

Well, it works now. I had two problems.
Finally, an x10 guy sent me the right
driver for XP, and I also found out I had
to go into my router settings and open a
couple of ports (8888 & 8080) for the
program. Thanks for the help, Brian H.
Everything seems to be working now. Yaaaaay!

When you install ActiveHome Pro, the CM15A
device and drivers are installed
automatically. The installer also saves the
driver files in:

Program Files\Common
Files\X10\DriverInstall\Wireless Transceivers\

There should be three files there:

x10ufx2.inf
x10ufx2.cat
x10ufx2.sys

Trying to install on a WindowsME machine
connected to internet through router.  When
using the e-mail supplied installation link
I get as far as 22%, just after it asks if I
want to upgrade a prior installation to
which I answered yes.  Any ideas?  Might it
be the firewall in the router? If so, how do
I open it?

Thanks

Cliff: If you answer "No" to the update other
applications questions, does the installation
proceed?
