ActiveHome Pro update to v3.177 available
« on: January 28, 2005, 08:51:54 PM »

The long awaited next release of ActiveHome
Pro is now available. We skipped a version
number, since we used 3.176 as a test release
with a few users. We've put a number of
important changes in 3.177, as well as some
requests:

- Added ability to print PalmPad labels,
using the "Print Labels" option on the File menu.

- Added ability to copy a command in the
Macro Designer, by right clicking and
choosing "Duplicate Step."

- Added "Delete All Timers" option to
context menu when right clicking on the
Timers header in the Group Pane.

- Made entering times into delays in Macro
Designer easier. No longer have to enter all
the colons.

- Fixed several typos/spelling mistakes in
various places.

- Consolidated general and plug-in
registration into one, more friendly dialog.

- Added access to registration dialog from
Help menu.

- Fixed wrong registration dialog being
shown for initial registration (introduced in
3.175).

- Improved Preferences to support multiple
plug-in product options.

- Added auto-select of transceived house
codes to reduce RF processing and potential
unnecessary powerline activity.

- Connecting/disconnecting the CM15A from
USB no longer triggers "Need to Save" icon.

- Added "Auto-Scroll" toggling to Activity
Monitor View options.

- Improved reliability of downloading data
to the interface.

- Clear interface memory now clears all of
the interface, not just initial area. (Takes
more time now, too.)

You can download the update installer
directly from here:

http://software.x10.com/pub/applications/ahp_updt.exe

We'll have another update soon to address the
major timer/macro performance problems. As I
mentioned before, we're testing with a small
set of users now and will have more
information soon.

You're right, I've been checking 3 to 4
times a day for the next update. Thanks.

The added ability to print PalmPad labels,
using the "Print Labels" option on the File
menu is a great addition. However it only
prints labels 1-8 OR 9-16. This does not
help those of us that use combined labels.
Are you planning to improve the print
function to include the print features the
old ActiveHome program provided?

Since updating to V3.177 I am getting
AHP/CM15A communication issues:

1. Downloading to the CM15A with 15% space
used, now takes four minutes.

2. After about five minutes an AHP dialogue
appears saying that there has been a
communication error.

3. At the same time a 2 above, the Windows
USB dialogue pops up stating that a USB
device (the CM15A) has been unplugged.

4. Attempting to turn lights on/off via AHP
does not always work - this is probably
related to the communication issues.

5. After leaving AHP running overnight, with
the latest update, In the morning I had
approximately 20 of the AHP dialogue boxes
mentioned in 2 above.

The update installed without any problems.
The PC has been restarted.
OS: Windows 2000 SP4
Processor: AMD Athlon XP 2200+
Motherboard: MSI KT4V
CM15A Codes: 04J44, P10792I

Please advise – can I rollback to the
previous version?

Another (minor) issue is in the Hardware
Interface Configuration screen. The cities
do not show up when the 'Show US and Canada
Only' checkbox is checked.

There is a scroll bar on the right that
needs to be moved up to see the cities.

To Bob L,
WOW..you are sure having trouble... I have a
CM15A running for 3 weeks NOT connected to PC
, 3 timers, 20 modules/sensors/switches etc,
on WinXP/SP2 and all MS updates, NortonAV
Corp edition.. Running dual P3 MB. Have NO
macros running yet.  Update to 3.177 was as
expected. I have one passive coupler
installed.  Wonder whay so many have so much
trouble and I dont seem to have much
trouble...yet ?   Watching with
anticipation..  Maybe I should try to
incorporate a macro similar to ones that have
given trouble ?

Pete V: We will be adding to the label
printing features.

Bob Lin: You have an e-mail from me last
night that I think will help with the problem
you are seeing.

X10 Pro: I have received the replacement
CM15A. AHP is able to communicate correctly
with this unit.

Thanks.
