I had to stop trying to get AHP installed
on my main computer, too many things did
not work or I had crashes etc.   So I am
only running AHP on my laptop under Windows
XP.   It seems to run fine for a couple of
days then nothing timed or via macro seems
to run.    I can get things back running if
I clear the CM15A then reload it, most of
the time.    Last couple of failures I had
to pull the power on the CM15A, remove the
batteries, power it back up, re-insert the
batteries, then clear and load it from my
laptop.  Am I starting to experience a
problem like others on this forum ?

I cannot get any answers from the technical
folks via email, do they ever return
emails ?   Does calling in for support or
help ever work ?

Bob see if you can find v3.178 or earlier
they ran well on my xp machine 3.179 I get
6.5 days before it failes to execute a plc
on XP or 98SE.

Thanks Tuiceman, I had 3.178 but had other
problems.  Seems it was more stable re: the
problems I now have though....

I also think there is a problem when you go
from one version to another and your data
file has been updated on a previous or
later version of the software.   I have had
more luck archiving a data file with notes
to use it only with a specific version.

Something is weird also about plugging the
USB in and out / starting AHP, etc.   I
find I can get the system to run longer if
I clear and load the the CM15A, turn the
software off, then unlug the USB cable.

Am I barking up the wrong tree (hoping I
can find a pattern or isolate some things)
or is there some reality to what I'm
seeing / doing ?

PS: The longest I have gotten this to run
without any failures is about 1.5-2 weeks,
I left my laptop on, plugged in and running
AHP, ran very well.  But I'll be darned if
I am going to keep a PC on forever to keep
a $50. System alive and well.  I bought the
CM15A so I could loaf it then unplug from
it and have it run by it's self.....

I always use the Safely Remove Hardware icon
located on the bottom right side of the
windows task bar(XP not found in 98). one it
says it is ok to remove I unplug the USB
from the CM15A. I've never had a problem
using that whether AHP was running or not.
But I try to remember to shut it down first.

Whoa Tuiceman, that's good to know, should
not have to do that but you may have
something there !!!!  The USB interface on
the unit may get all worked up when you
just pull the cable.....

Hi Bob,
I'm running AHP on a laptop and am having
the same problems.  I do the same things
that you do.. unplug the CM15A, pull the
batteries, put it back together, and reload
it.
Do you ever let your laptop go into standby?
I've had mixed results letting it do that.
All in all, I'm agreeing with the folks
that are further down the road with AHP..
probably software related and hopefully
fixed soon.
Also, are you using a USB hub?  I am but am
not thinking that's the issue since I'm
seeing the same things as you and I'm
guessing that you don't have a hub?

GeorgeP - No, I never do hibernate or
standby with my laptop, have never had
solid good luck doing so and have reason to
not trust it (had a failure once that
caused me weeks to recover from).  Also,
I'm not using a USB hub, I have two USB
ports on the Laptop.

I think there are individual problems and
combination problems.   I've had problems
that I think were hardware, some that I
think were software, some that were caused
because of version updating. etc.

I think the techs at X10 are working very
hard to resolve them all.
