Remote Wonder Crashes Active Home
« on: April 18, 2005, 07:42:32 PM »

I have to keep ATI's Remote Wonder Software
installed for my USB2.0 TV Card. However,
once installed Active Home will not launch.
This is the error I get:

AppName: activehm.exe    AppVer:
3.0.0.183    ModName: ahp.dll
ModVer: 3.0.0.183    Offset: 001650c0.

If I click Debug in Visual Basic the
message is : Unhandled exception in
Activehm.exe (AHP.DLL)0xc0000005 Unhandled
exception.

I run WIN XP Pro SP2, and have AppVer.
3.0.0.183.
The Offset message is :001650c0

Can someone help my components live happily
ever after? I don't want to sacrifice
either application.

David: What version of the ATI RemoteWonder
software is this? If you it's 2 or earlier,
just reinstall ActiveHome Pro or run an
update installer:

http://software.x10.com/pub/applications/activehome/ahp_updt.exe

If it's version 3 of the ATI software, the
fix is a little tricky, since use they
Windows Installer to auto-heal their program,
wiping out the change made by the update. If
you e-mail ahpsupport@x10.com I'll give you
steps you can use to fix it.
