Extra cameras overtaking ids
« on: June 03, 2005, 12:34:07 PM »

I have two cameras working fine (on ids 2 and
3). two other cameras take over ids 1,2,and 4
when I plug either of them in, no matter what
house code or id I use for them. Anyone else
had this problem and found a solution or is
this possibly faulty equipment?

All xCams and FloodCams are made with the
idea of multiple camera systems.  If you
turn on one camera, then turn on another,
you would have two images sent to your
reciever and one would be clear and the
other a ghost scrolling over the first.  So
when X-10 Cameras are turned on by remote or
sensor, they send a code to turn off the
other three codes in that group.  The groups
are in fours: 1-4, 5-8, and so on.  IF you
don't want them interacting with each other,
put them in different groups.  This is only
true of cameras.  They don't affect
appliance and lamp modules, but it does
affect socket rockets.  Hope that helps.

If you use the ScanPower Director Remote
Control Kit (CR13A)... it allows you to use
up to 16 cameras.  This one does not use
the groups of 4 limitation on the other
remotes.
