A simple system w/o PC: do I miss something?
« on: July 17, 2005, 06:52:54 PM »

I'm in Europe and I just purchased (full
priced) a simple kit consisting of one
PIRcam, one a/v receicer, one VCR commander.
I also bought another x10 cam and a separate
motion sensor.

Can I install the two motion activated cams
togheter?

As far as I understood, motion sensors don't
put the camera on (they're always on), they
simply tell the VCR to start recording.

What do I need to activate/disactivate cams
on motion?

The cameras are not always on.  If they
were you wouldn't be able to select which
camera to see.  Every camera would be
transmitting and it would be a jumbled mess.

Set the cameras to 2 different unit numbers
on the same house code.  Program one motion
detector to the unit number of one camera
and the other MD to the other unit number.

Then select which camera to monitor using
the remote.

The MD will turn on the programmed camera
and send a signal to the VCR commander
which sends an IR signal to your VCR to
record.
