I have a problem with cats leaving
unpleasant "gifts" on top of my car's
ragtop in my garage.  I want to rig a
motion sensor, confining the range to the
general footprint of my car.  I'd like to
hook to to a very loud siren that goes off
for a short period of time then resets.  I
tried playing the Robodog clip loudly and
the cats didn't even twitch their ears.
Does anyone have a suggestion?

Richard R.

I think you should get the security system
and a bunch of power horns.  That will scare
them off for sure.

You need to look into buying the
X10 "Robodog"!!  The 5 piece is available
with a motion detector, 2 keychains, window
switch (?), and the DOG itself. When they
get near the car then the motion detector
will make the unit sound like a very large,
loud Rottweiler!!  Hahaha,  send pic's.
Hahaha.

Smith & Wesson has a new pellet gun that
fires a 3/8 inch plastic pellet and is very
quiet.  I use it for behavior modification
on the neighborhood kitties.  They learn
very quickly---twice usually does the
trick.  Got mine at Academy Sporting Goods.

Sorry for the "Low tech" approach to your
problem, but lemon juice, chili powder, and
paradichlorobenzine (moth balls) are all
very good cat repelants. The bad news is,
they have to be refreshed periodically.

I would suggest going to http://www.
smarthome.com/project_x10.html... they have a
LARGE selection of X-10 devices - they list
many different problem solving devices that
would give you more options in how to solver
your problem (many more devices than are
listed on the X-10 website).  Smarthome is
too pricy for me.  After you know exactly
what you need, then, as previously stated -
go to ebay!! :>)}

I have seen a a motion senor sprinkler that
will turn on when it senses motion. I have
seen it on the smarthome or x10 site.  Cat
and water dont mix.  I hate cats!

Simple. Pour some Anti-Freeze into a small
dish. Cat's can't resist it and will be dead
in a few hours. Problem solved!

X10 Forum dude... I don't know why you keep
deleting this response because #1) it's a
solution that works and #2) It quickly
solved my problem with a cat nesting on my
$40,000 Audi convertable. I've got a batch
of anti-freeze waiting for the next one to
take a nap on my car...

Thanks Jeff! It really worked! Only problem
was that the cat friggin died under my car!
Had to bag it for the garbage guys.

Mark, glad I could help.

I had a neighbor once who tried to kick my
cat for pooing in his yard. I broke a small
baseball bat over his head. My cat didn't
seem to bother him anymore......
