GINGER - NO NEED. YOU ALREADY HAVE ONE IF
YOU OWN AN INFRA-RED MOTION DETECTOR. A FEW
YEARS BACK I INSTALLED RESIDENTIAL AND
COMMERCIAL ALARM SYSTEMS. SOMETIMES IT
REQUIRES A LITTLE ADJUSTMENT BUT HERE'S WHAT
YOU DO... THE INFRA-RED LENS (WHITE
TRANSLUCENT PLASTIC)HAS MULTIPLE FOCAL
POINTS ON THE LENS. WHEN SOMEONE OR ANIMAL
(SAME DIFFERENCE FOR SOME) WALKS ACROSS THE
IR'S FIELD OF VIEW, THOSE FOCAL POINTS CAUSE
THE INTENSITY OF THE INFRA-RED (BY THE WAY
THE INFRA-RED SPECTRUM LIES JUST "BELOW"
HUMAN VISIBILITY, NOT ABOVE, AS MOST THINK.
IT STARTS JUST BELOW OUR COLOR RED) THE LENS
CAUSES SOURCE TO SLOWLY CHANGE FROM BRIGHT
TO DIM ON THE INFRA-RED SENSING DIODE, WHICH
HAS BEEN PROGRAMED TO INFORM US OF A
POSSIBLE INTRUDER. IF YOU PET IS NOT THE
INTRUDER, SIMPLY TAKE A 1/4 INCH PEICE OF
BLACK ELECTRICIANS TAPE AND COVER THE FIRST
LOWER (SMALLEST) ROW OF FOCAL POINTS. THOSE
ARE THE MOST SENSITIVE TO SO
CALLED "MOVEMENT" (MORE ON THAT ANOTHER
TIME). THAT SHOULD DO IT. SOMETIMES YOU HAVE
TO PLACE A LITTLE WIDER PIECE TO INCLUDE
BLCKING THE LOWER HALF OF THE SECOND ROW UP,
DEPENDING ON THE PET. NOW, IF ANYONE WANTS
TO IMMUNE A HORSE FROM AN INFRA-RED... NOT!
