I own a two-story home and just recently
purchased a DS7000 security system. I am
facinated with the entire system and how it
works. I am having trouble deciding on where
I should place the security console though.
Right now, I placed the console downstairs in
our kitchen counter next to a phone jack and
outlet where it is easily accessible (also
not a good place for intruders since they can
disarm it or yank it out of the wall). To
arm/disarm the system, I've been using the
keychain remote so I would need to access the
console.
So, my question is this: should I hide the
security console upstairs where it is not
easily accessible? (My concern is that once I
do this, I will not be able to determine
whether the system is armed or disarmed,
since the audible chime will not be heard
from my front door.) Please help ... thanks
