Disarming alarm delay sound

Hi, Is there any way to disable the 60
second delay chime when arming the x-10?

not as far as i can figure out either.. i
hate that countdown, its loud and annoys me
and probably the neighbours.. one thing i
noticed is if you set the alarm via one of
the keychain remotes it doesnt count down.

No, the keychain doesn't cause the sound. The
countdown gives you a minute to get outside.
The keychain remote follows the idea of being
outside already, so it doesn't need to
countdown. This is bad for another member
without a keychain remote coming home because
they have no chance to disarm it. I don't
believe there is any way to disable the
countdown, you can set the switch to "MIN"
but then you have no time to get outside. The
only problem with using the keychain remote
is that from outside, you can't hear the
emitted tone telling you that the system
can't be armed because a zone is active. I
get this quite often because the sensors
report motion but the DSC 700 doesn't recieve
the "off" signal from the sensor. Which makes
me use the inside remote to ensure proper
arming. The tone is not that loud to disturb
neighbours, it's not that bad.
