Device control via Internet?

I would like to be able to control the X10
devices via the Internet.  Is that something
that can be done?  I haven't been able to
find anything about it.  I've seen info
regarding remote viewing of video via the
web, but not what is needed to turn on a
lamp.

I have a remote camera that sends streaming
video to a website that lets me know my pet
is OK while I am at work.  When it is dark
in the room, I would like to turn a lamp on
briefly.  I am sure there are other uses as
well (?)

Thanks,
Frank

I can't seem to tell. I was looking at the
MultiView software, and there is a sentence
that says something to the effect of
operating lights remotely with the
FireCracker Kit, but it doesn't specifically
say that you can operate them remotely via
the internet, or remotely via sitting at
your computer, at home, controlling a light
across the house...
They do have a touch-tone thing that you can
call and when it picks-up, you punch in your
code and then punch-in a command. You might
look at that. I think it's called a touch-
tone controller.

Thanks Kenneth.  That isn't a bad idea at
all.  I really wanted to keep it simple and
just make the change to the X10 setting
while viewing video from the same location.
But, it seems there is no way to do what I
am looking to do.  So your way is a good
plan.  I am surprised that no one has
pursued control via the web.

I'm in the same boat, and have found two
possible solutions...

10.html
and
