I have a PR511 Motion Detector Flood light
set to detect motion all of the time. The
flood light is A1, indoor lamp is A2 and
Chime is A3. I wanted the indoor lamp to go
on only between Dusk and Dawn and for 2
minutes when activated, so I set up a
Active Home Macro to do it. The macro was
set to A2 and the indoor lights I then put
on A7. Then the Macro is activated the
Flood lights come on and stay on for the 2
minutes and the Chime also keeps sounding
even though it is not in the Macro. It is
like the PR511 is latched on for as long as
the Macro is running. What I want is the
Flood lights and the Chime to time out
normally and just run the A2 Macro that
will turn on the inside lights on A7 for 2
minutes if it is between dusk and dawn.

I have the same problem i can't figure out
how to have the chine stop after one time.
As well the trigger for the macro will not
turn off thus the macro runs indefinitly
even if i turn it off in the macro. The
sensor won't turn off.

Would like to fix this problem

Maybe I misunderstand your post, but the
PR511 can control four unit codes begining
with the unit code you set the floods to
(A1). If you set (by switches under the
door) for all four unit codes to "fire" when
motion is detected, the chime on A3 is
working correctly. A1 through A4 will turn
on via the motion and will remain on for the
time duration set by the "delay" pot (also
under the door).

That is the problem. The time set by the
delay pot is not turning off the Flood
lights or any other items, ie A2-A4. When a
Macro is activated by one of the addresses
ie A2-A4, and this macro has a delay time
in it the entire PR511 remains on for the
delay time even though motion has stopped.
So if you trigger the Macro with A2, all
modules on A3 and A4 keep activating as
long as the Macro is running. Also A1, the
Flood lights stay on with no motion. If you
have a Chime on A3 or A4 it keeps chiming
until the Macro ends even though the Chime
is not part of your Macro.

Figured it out, Set the motion sensor to any
time delay you would like,  i set mine to .1
minute. Sensor=A1, Phantom trigger=A2
Macro reads as follows

If A2=on and Flag 2=off and between dawn and
dusk-trigger macro
Set Flag 2, ring bell=E2, delay=20 sec,
clear flag 2
Else if A2=on and Flag 2=off and between
dusk and dawn-trigger macro
set flag 2
Ring bell (optional)
Turn on E3=light front door (any light you
want)
delay=5 min (again any time limit)
Clear flag 2

This stops the bell from ringing
continuously and allows you to turn lights
on only at night and if you want the bell as
well. the house code i found has to be
different from the house code of the items
you want to turn on and off if you want to
run a macro with the flood light motion
sensor as the trigger. I think because the
off command is controlled by the switch on
the unit itself thus any macro will run for
the time frame you set the sensor to turn
off at .1 min .5 min 2 min etc. thus the
macro loops for that time frame and the
items it controls directly. Setting a flag
in the macro i found was the key, thus it
does not allow the macro to loop over and
over during the set time you have the sensor
to turn off. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the information. I will give
this macro a try. Looks like putting the
inside units on a different house code and
using Flags in the macro is the key to it.
On another note, I was also thinking of
trying a screw in light sensor for the
Flood lights so I would have the Flood
lights only come on from dusk to dawn, use
the macro you suggest so the inside lights
only come on from dusk to dawn but the
inside Chime is triggered by outside motion
all of the time. I wish the light was
designed better so this was not so much
work. I think it is the most logical way
for the light to work. So you could sense
motion outside all of the time, but turn on
lights only from dusk to dawn.

You can have the chime ring when ever you
want day only and lights at night only just
remove the chime from the night macro.
Unfortunatly i don;t think you can have the
sensor sense all off the time and only have
the flood lights on at night only. For that
reason i only use the sensor to activate
other lights outside at night and ring
during the day, i removed the lights. Hope i
works for you.

The Chime was never in the Macro. That was
the problem. The Macro is A2 and the Chime
is A3. The inside lights are A7. The Macro
just turns the inside A7 lights on if it is
between Dusk and Dawn, however the Chime,
the outside Flood Lights and the inside
lights all stay on for as long as the Macro
runs, ie the delay time of the A7 Inside
lights.

You can't have the chime or the lights on
the same house code as the sensor as you
arre right they will be on for the time
period that it is set to. I just removed the
flood lights altogether all i needed was a
hard wired sensor hoping the lights would
only come on at night like regular motion
flood light sensors.

I have not tried this yet, but this is the

Thank you for your request. You can do what
you described by setting the Floodlight and
the Chime to A1, and the indoor lamp to A7.

Make a conditional macro with a dusk
condition and a trigger of A1 ON (so it
will execute when the Floodlight detects
motion) that will turn on A7, wait two
minutes, and turn it off. Note that the
floodlight itself and the chime are not
turned on from the macro - the floodlight
will turn itself and the chime on
automatically, then turn itself off when it
times out.
