iWitness and SM should work without AHP
« on: May 07, 2005, 07:19:15 PM »

X10Pro

It would be great if the smart macros using
iWitness camera functions did not have to
have AHP running to work.  I know the USB
cable has to be attached to save pictures,
but couldn't the incoming picture/video
files be saved to disk without AHP running.
Maybe a background service or something.

Thanks

Minimize AHP and you get what you are
looking for. AHP incorporates the routines
to read the data stream from the VA11A
interface for picture digitization and
saving to disk.

AHP pushes quite a bit of memory into to
the swap space when running other
applications and still takes up a bit of
ram when minimized.  For a service to run
it would be substantially less.  You also
run the risk of having someone redo your
nicely done module, macro, timer and camera
layouts when you are not looking if the
program is so readily available....
