RS-232 Bridge
«

I am looking for a simple bi-directional
device that would bridge the X10 from the
power line to an RS232 interface. This could
easily be done with a small micro such as a
PIC. Has anybody built anything like this or
know of a commercial unit. I have the
Marrick but I cannot get consistent
communications with the unit. It changes
baud when the power fails and does not always
reprogram properly for me.

How about X10's CM11A
Logged
Yesterday it worked.
Today it doesn't work.
X10 on Windows is like that.

Good Evening,
I have tried CM11A and just about everything else they offer but so far when the Merrick works it far surpasses everything else I have tried. I want to get it into a async serial format such as RS232.
Thanks

How about X10's CM11A
Remember, the CM11A will not work well under WindowsXP on some machines (seems to be motherboard based) and there have been reports that USB to Serial cables don't work well either. Also, the CM11A is being phased out by X10 and will become harder and harder to get, plus Active Home is not easy to get either.
