Making an Active Home Pro Plugin
« on: October 10, 2005, 01:28:12 PM »

I have an idea for a product I would like
to build.  But this product would be better
suited to be a plugin to the ActiveHome Pro
software instead of a standalone program.
It looks like everything is there in
the "Interface" portion of the dll to code
a plugin but I'm not sure.  First, would it
be legal to create such a plugin and sell
it?  Second, I understand that you could
not give direct support for such a plugin,
but could you give me any direction as far
as how I create the plugin?  For example,
does a plugin component code have to be a
dll or an exe or can it be either?  Are
there any basic white papers or other
information you could send me on making
plugins?  What are the parameters needed in
the plugin xml file for the program to
detect and use the plugin?  Anyone
attempted to use the plugin functions?
Thanks for any help you can give me.

Sorry, I had the wrong email address.
Here's the message again with the correct
address.  Thank you.

I was just going over some old post And seen this one!
Many of the Third party addons could be suited for plugins, but since X10 has added the function to start window based programs with a macro,
You could make a addon and have Active Home Pro start it.
You could even make your program start with different parameters by saving batch files and adding them to macros! ;)
