About 4 years ago I purchased 3 cams but never installed untill last week. I put a cam in the den and used the TV in the den to set it up. perfect picture. After moving the reciever into the office about 25 feet away and through 2 walls the quality of the picture dropped. If I get a phone call I lose the picture until I hang up. there is also a wireless router in the office for the computers. Is there a way to block or to boost the signal to get a better picture

you'll find that there are alot of things that will interfer with the 2ghz signal microwaves and steel studing actualy any steel are a few others to add to the once you have found . Boster will help (if you can find one ) the cams but then your other half won't like loosing the phone signal! The cheepest solution might be to get a new 5Ghz phone!

Try a different channel for the Router. Sometimes you can find one that doesn't interfere. As for the phone; a 5Ghz maybe the best solution.

A 5.8Ghz phone system might be your only recourse but be aware that most 5.8 systems are a hybrid a combination of 2.4 and 5.8 5.8 from the base and the headset usually communicates with the base at 2.4 Why you ask in one word battery life Uniden has a full 5.8 system but the phone can only stay off the charger for about 3 to 4 hours before they have to go back to be chargered. Another thing is overall battery life Uniden saids in the instructions that the batteries in the phones have to be replaced once a year!! So what I finally did was buy a Vtech hybrid system with 2.4 form the headset batter life on the 2.4 is two or three days before charging is required only have problems now when I'm talking. When I had a full 2.4 system (base & headset) had interference all the time because I usually really only use my cameras to record when I'm NOT HOME this is really not a problem. Make sure you read the instruction manual of the phone system you what before you buy it a lot won't tell you if the system is hybrid in the basic description of the phone. Hope This Helps.

To minimize interference between an X10 camera system and an 802.11b, 80211.g wireless router set the X10 system to channel D and the wireless router to channel 1.

X10 camera center frequencies (from FCC web site)

Of course if your wireless network uses 5.8 GHz, you'll want cordless phones that don't!

ANOTHER darn fly in the ointment! Which wireless networks use 5.8 GHz???

There are many manufacturers that offer 5.8 GHz wireless LAN equipment.  Most of what I've personally seen seems to be directed at higher-end users like wireless access points at coffee shops, McDonalds, etc.  I'm not sure how fast (or indeed if) it will catch on with the investment most people have in 2.4 GHz equipment, but if it is better, faster, etc. then it's only a matter of time.

If so you'll really have to hunt them down. There was an 802.11A standard for a short time that I believe used 5.8 GHz. 802.11G is the most common standard now. It is backward compatible with 802.11B. 802.11G however is not compatible with 802.11A, however.
