DS7000 Outlet Problem?
« on: June 25, 2006, 12:05:33 AM »

Hi,

My DS7000 was working fine until today.  First, it lost all info (didn't recognize wireless
remotes).  I replaced the battery and reprogrammed everything.

First Problem - The AC Power Green light is ALWAYS on regardless if the unit is plugged
into the wall or if the unit is unplugged (and on battery power). The wall outlet is
hot (I tested that first).

Second Problem - None of the lights work.  The unit is set to house code A and
my security light is A1.  However, I can't get any of the lights to come on (or off)
by using the wireless remotes.  Arming and Disarming sounds the correct chimes
on the DS7000 but pressing the light buttons does nothing.

Any help is appreciated!

Seems like I got the same problem with you as I posted my problem yesterday. If didn't hear from anyone for help since June, I don't think I have any luck!

Rich,

A few of the obvious questions first...
Did you switch the outlet that the unit was plugged into?  Is it going straight into the wall, or is it going via a circuit breaker?  Did you add any new AC devices (such as a new computer, TV, etc, or even as simple as bringing your Laptop home from work and plugging it in near the unit)?  In other words, has anything else in the environment of your house changed, even in a different room?  Is the DS7000 a day past warranty?

If you verified the AC power and it acts the same on AC or Battery [green LED]. It sounds like it has failed.
