I need to set up a macro to send emails to my work when i get a trigger from my motion detector and which transmission method is most effective (auto, SMTP, or x10 portal)?

My setup is as follows: 
Window XP
AHP
iWitness
myHouse
Eagle Eye Motion
Nightwatch camera xx20A

For those with problems in e-mail setting, SMTP means Send Mail To People.  Many broadband ISP's use POP3 for incoming and SMTP for outgoing mail.

Thanks. what I posted is a simple way to remember what SMTP means.  It's also used by ISPs to segregate incoming and outgoing mail.  Dial-up ISPs tend not to use it, AFAIK.

Depending on what typ of e-mail you wish to send just text notification or notification with pictures
Here is a sample of each: The trigger B9 is the address of the motion sensor macros are the same except the email!

Hello,
I tried the above example and did not get any emails. I don't know what could be wrong. The computer is on cable internet. Where in this software does one configure the email servers?
I have active home pro, macros, iwitness and my house online installed. everything works except the email functions. I am at a loss here.

To configure your email settings click on MyHouse then click on email configuration
fill in the required info and click ok!

Thanks, I have done this and still do not get emails. I have even tried to sent myself a invite email which has yet to show up after 5 days. I have tried to reinstall all the software and still nothing. I am running windows XP on a Athlon 64, 1 GB Ram 200 GB hard drive etc. With a cable internet via a Linksys router and a Linksys modem. This computer is connected to the router via a cat5 cable. I had it as wireless and changed that hoping the cable would change things. The rest of my X10 equipment functions gr8 but this email thing is making me nutz. I can't get the FTP to work either. I can use outlook on this computer as well as another FTP program.

Have you played with your router settings?
I'm running XP with a cable modem and a linksys router as well. I had to play with port forwarding and some other settings inorder for Myhouse to work.
I had to enable

[li]Multicast Pass Through[/li]
[li]IPSec Pass Through[/li]
[li]PPTP Pass Through[/li][/b][/size][/list]
Note: locations may vary with modle #
mine were all found under advanced/filters
I also had to enable DMZ Host found under advanced as well with the ip address of my X10 machine but this was done for other reasons and haven't tried it without it set  so that may need to be set as well!

Comcast uses SMTP for sending mail and POP3 for recieving mail.  My old dial-up provider used POP3 for both send and recieve.

My ISP also requires authentication(password) so I'm assuming AHP gets this info from IE as I never entered that info in AHP! but using the SMTP was the only way I could get it to send e-mail

It's itelluwhat , not jwideman who is now having e-mailing problems, and he posted "the computer is on cable internet"  He may need to check his e-mail client's settings to see if his cable provider is using SMTP or POP3 as the outgoing setting.
