Two More AH Pro basic questions
« on: July 19, 2006, 05:17:04 PM »

Hi Folks,

Well I am still cramming my brain with all this x10 stuff.  I'm interested in that AH Pro but reading some of the posts about problems etc. makes me a bit leary.  Anyways I have 2 more questions regarding the AH Pro is anyone would be so kind to reply.

1) When you plug the USB interface into a 2 plug wall plug is it so large that it covers both plugs thus not being able to use one of them?  I'd plug it in the bottom most plug but don't know if it will cover the upper one.

2) Does the USB interface have to be plugged into the 120v wall socket to program it?  That is, can you download the event data to it just using the USB cable connected to the interface and computer?, then plug the interface into a wall plug.

Thanks....

Plugging in the bottom will leave the top free.

...Does the USB interface have to be plugged into the 120v wall socket to program it?...
While I've never tried it, I'd expect the answer to be yes. I believe the batteries are only for backup. When/Where/Why would need to download where you didn't have 120AC available?

Thanks again Steven_r.

You see, I have 3 computers networked.  I wanted to know if I could download into the interface from one of my other computers where there is not a 120v plug available(all in use).

I appreciate it!

I use a 3 plug adaptor above my CM15A for extra plugs.

I have a double outlet in a WireMold surface box betwween the computer desk and the printer stands. The bottom outlet has the CM15A (it is never unplugged) and the top outlet has a MC460 plugged into it (for my single keypress macro and other light control use).
