Has anyone tried mControl?
« on: August 14, 2006, 09:17:30 PM »

Hi all...  Just wondering if anyone has tried mControl version 1.5 and if so what did they think of it? It interfaces with with both the CM11 and CM15 controllers and it will run at the same time AHP is running as long as there are no commands issued at the same time. Looking for feed back.

What is this "mControl"?
Where do we find it to try it?

I did a Google search for mControl and it did lead to a site, but there was no mention of X10 compatablity that I could find.

Sorry for the confussion. I thought it was a bit more known. Here is the link to their web page and demo. The software is somewhat new I guess and updates are coming out all the time. A new update I think will be out yet this month with some bug fixes I found.

Well at least mControl did something right ... a 155 page user manual.  It would be nice to have something as comprehensive as this from X10 for their products!!!!!!

mControl will be coming out with a new gray skin that will show 8 devices per screen as opposed to the curent 4 per screen. Not sure when that is due out but I know version 1.6 is due out very soon and addresses a X10 problem with motion sensors and how the program reports macros to the client when you have more then 10 macros.

I have been using mControl along with AHP. AHP is handling some of my more complex macros while mControl does all the simple macros and timer functions. some of my macros have over 25 commands, delays and such and It has worked flawless so far. Some of the upcoming version upgrades are going to address a more complex macro handling ability from what I have heard.

I have been looking at mcontrol and I was wondering if it supports x10 and the cm15a I think that it could be a awesome addition to home controls.  I currently have multiple touchscreens located throughout my hose running my servant but I am always looking for better solutions.  Please let me know what you think of it.

Thanks KenRad

mControl does work for x10.  I haven't tried it but it does list x10 under protocols.  Also there is a screenshot showing adapters where it lists CM11A, CM15A, CM17A, CM19A.
