I found this, maybe all is not lost. Maybe someone will pick up where X10 left off.  ???

Thanks for sharing that Mr. Jones. I hadn't seen that.

I get the impression that in recent weeks there has been an  increased chatter of "where is my refund complaints" in the forums and the facebook fan page.  In another forum site I follow there is  that big $149 rebate for the "free" X10 camera system that no has received yet (over there people have begun filing credit card disputes claims since its past due... maybe they'll start paying soon)  Not a good sign. You might speculate X10 has cashflow issues because they are slow to payout/refund or maybe its just plain bad customer service.  I hope X10 is here to stay since I was one those people that bought sc1200 security system and want to get future warranty support.

It won't be just a feeling, it would be a dupe. One has to admit, pretty ingenious. Sorta like the furniture store that would have a "Going Out of Business" sale every month. But it will destroy the remaining customer loyalty that X10 users may still have. And X10 needs to keep that capital. Also, just like the furniture store, it only works (good) once.

The one thing that makes me think it is real, is the fact we have heard nothing contrary, and X10 is now selling competing remote control products on their web store.

pseeker,
Happened to me but I never posted it so here it is.  Purchased my third sentinel camera and it was DOA. I asked for another quickly realizing they would charge my credit card for the replacement but X10 said they would issue a refund upon receiving the bad one back. I had proof with FedEx the bad one made it back to X10.
After constant calling and on line chatting for two months and with X10 confirming they received the bad one but still no refund I finally called my Visa provider and they took care of it. I would have to say that X10 is in financial difficulty.

Why don't we just takeover X10 ourselves? I mean we all know what we want out of the products. We could sign on guys like Dave W, Hawk 1, tuicemen etc. as programers and i know some guys on here have other strengths i.e. marketing, sales, webpage designers etc. We could operate it as a employee run company. Okay it was just a thought :' lol

Gates AKA: TechGates (http://forums.x10.com/index.php?action=profile;u=11354) hasn't checked in since '07
Wes Walton hasn't posted since '09:  http://forums.x10.com/index.php?topic=17374.msg95832#msg95832

I can't be 100% sure they're the same guys you're thinking about though.

The Smarthome web site shows the SC1200 as discontinued.
http://www.smarthome.com/82136/X10-SC1200-SecuriLINK-Home-Security-Console/p.aspx

The Home Automation Store shows they still have some, but the price is much higher.
Say List $129.99 12% discounted to $114.99  ???

Now you guys got me thinking about those two bad power supplies I sent back that were supposed to be under warranty. I never did hear back from them. Time to make some phone calls.

Just got off the phone with them and they said they just upgraded their software system and are still working out some bugs and they are back logged three weeks.....hmmmmm Maybe, maybe not. :'

X10 Facebook conversation regarding  "X10 6-Pack of SMART Door/Window Sensors - NOW ONLY $29.99  promotion at http://www.x10.com/promotions/ds12a_ed_6f1_1013.html

10/14/2011 Question: "Fred Bennett: What happened to the Securilink system. Can't find it on the website, and a new ad suggests that the DS7000 is the future of home security. I thought Securilink was the future, it was surely more flexible."

10/14/2011 X10 Response: "X10: Fred, Those are currently out of stock and we do not have an ETA for receiving more of them"

Implies the sc1200 are "just merely" out of stock...

I got the same response on my last order but didnt think anything of it. I tried to get some socket rockets and he told me they were out of stock and it would be months before they had more. That was during the 'green' sale they had and I got a lamp module instead.

It is true X10 only Manufacture in China has shutdown. and the only X10 systems and accessory are what is ether in suppler stock or in shipment to them after that runs out there will be no more X10 available. unless someone pick up the operation. But I think with other newer wireless systems with more capabilities like 32bit systems. I think anyone would be crazy to
try and buy the rights to manufacture such old technology. Pules start up cost. I have been in manufacturing for over 35 years and support two operations in China and more in other locations so I know what it would take and it's not going to happen unless someone is crazy as I said to many new systems out there. I sorry to see it go to i have been use it since 92.

I have the pro 2000 and have stocked up on spares. But am thinking of going to a console that operates on a different frequency. But will allow me to use same magnetic switches and just change the transmitters. But I wiil still need to replace all other transmitters. But that I will do over time I will tap into the pro 2000 and add a slave relay to give a input to my new system.

Some of the X10 European sellers indicated they are going to start stocking the modules from this vendor.
