The CM11A has a 1K EEPROM.  It can store timers and macros for execution while disconnected from the PC but has no capability for flags or conditions.

You can pack quite a lot into that 1K.   A timer (which controls two macro events) occupies 9 bytes, but you may need more than one to cover the entire year due to Daylight Time or quite a few to handle timers based on Dawn or Dusk times.  A macro element, e.g., turn On from 1 to 16 modules, typically occupies 3 bytes (4 bytes for dims and brights, 6 bytes for Extended Code commands).  A macro itself occupies the sum of its elements plus 2 bytes and the trigger for it occupies 3 bytes.

Remember, the CM11 is only sold in The Netherlands and Belgium.

so how do I upload preprogrammed things to the CM11 ?  Will home seer automatically load all schedules and macros onto the memory of the CM11 or do I have to manage this seperately ? How do you know whats loaded and whats not made it onto the memory ?

I live in south africa, so we get the CM11 ... limited here we use 220v so our choice is limited to whatever is available in 220v

I don't think HomeSeer has the capability of loading timers and macros into the CM11 memory.  As far as I know, the only Windows based programs with this capability are ActiveHome and Zeus (http://www.zeushome.com).  If you have a computer available running Linux or Mac OS X, the Heyu software  (http://www.heyu.org) has this capability and will show you exactly what it has loaded into the memory.

Homeseer can not load anything to any of the various PLC interfaces it can talk to (X10, ACT, Smartthome, etc.). Homeseer only uses the CM11 as a gateway to your powerlines, it only runs from the computer.

2. Active Home may not recognize the CM11 as it was built for the CM11A, not a European interface.

The North American and International versions of the CM11 are software compatible.
