here is the problem that i have, current set-up" minitimer by bed and lamp in dining room outlet by computer.  mini timer works all lights and outlets except in dining room. I do have a coupler installed and a cm15a. If i use remotes or cm15 or trigger security system the dining light responds great.  but from theminitimer no response on that light.  I then put the light in the outlet in the bedroom where the mini timer was and moved the minitimer to the outlet in the dining room.  In this position the minitimer triggers the light now in the bedroom, same circuits, same coupler everything same except position of timer and light module.  Any suggestions, so i can have the timer by the bed and not have to move the bed into the dining room. okay after further testing have found the problem to be with the so called signal suckers, I found that one of the 3 cell chargers was a problem, and computer, monitor, laser printer, and battery backup. if all those are removed from the outlet then the light works.  now i guess my question is what type of filter am i going to need to stop this problem.  You see the cm15 is also in this outlet and needs to stay so i can run from pc.  Do they make a filter for an entire outlet or breaker?  again thanks for the help

Smarthome makes a filter that has a filtered outlet on the bottom and a pass through outlet on the front. I have a 10 amp version on my APC BX1000 UPS. My controller is on the pass through. Maybe that would be what you need.

You might want to give this a try. You can use a Standard Power Strip (No Surge Protection) . Preferably one with #12 cord. Cut the plug off about 3' back a 6' cord. Wire the Power Strip as shown. Use the plug end and wire it in as shown. Note that the noise filter and all wiring and connections should be in a metal electric switch box. Use a deep box as the noise filter is 2" deep.

sorry for the long reply. I bought the wired in 20amp filter, attached it in line to a powerstrip.  Plugged all devices at computer work center into strip.  All lights and modules and outlets work perfectly. Again thanks for all the help.

  How would you put a noise filter in to cover the WHOLE house? Would you have to use several in the breaker box? I have 1- 20amp wired in filter (still need to be installed) So how many would I need to cover the whole house?

let me just start with I am a newbie, but you would indeed need multiple 20amp filters or many 5amp plug in filters to cover the whole house. Also one very important thing to remember is no connections can be made inside your breaker box( against building code). I think what i did,( from advice of other more professional users of course). Buy a 20-amp filter, powerstrip without surge protection, and a metal junction box with lid.  cut the wire of the powerstrip about in the middle, run ends of wires into junction box, along with wires from 20-amp filter. Hook up according to directions and then plug devices into it.  So far the only signal sucking devices that were causing problems for me where my computer work stations.  So for me the powerstrip option was the way to go.  As for whole house filtering, i think that is impossible as you would be filtering before the power reached the problem components, instead of blocking the problem from the wall outlet.

I totally agree with piazano1.  Filtering is best done on the local level as close to the noisy device as possible.

  Thanks piazano1 and Knightrider... I'm going to try BVD's method. I think our flat screen and WII are giving me the biggest problems, so I'm going to start there first.
