Do a search here for the other posts for a better explanation but basically the electrical noise from the fan motor tricks the switch into coming back on.

Bridging the Neutral should not be a problem. Both the fan and light where fed from the same Line and Neutral wires?
When you turn the fan off with the local button does it operate correctly and stay off?
Could be a noise pulse from the fan when it turns off, but I would think it may do it from the local button also.

Set the speed switch on the fan (the pull chain) at its highest speed, The XPDI3 should not turn back on if the fan switch is on high.

I have the same problem and since I almost always want my fan on high, that has been my solution for some time.
A suggestion was made that I expect would work and that was to put a resistor across the load. I'm not sure but I think a 22K 1/2 W was recommended but I suggest you get confirmation on that before trying it.
