IP Camera Tool shows...nothing
« on: February 25, 2012, 09:37:28 PM »

Just got the camera today. I'm running Vista Ultimate, 64-bit, and IP Camera Tool shows...nothing.
The camera's set up properly, wired to the router, green and yellow lights on. (It's even plugged in.)
Ran IPCamSetup.exe with both AV and Windows firewall turned off, rebooted, and...nothing.  The IP Camera Tool shows no IPs, and none of the three messages that the manual says you're supposed to get.
Right-clicking 'about' showed the message 'can not find' for the VLC Media Player version, so I downloaded that, rebooted, still nothing.Event Viewer shows nada.
Netstat shows a 0.0.0.0:10000 entry for the PID, but that's it.

Anybody else experienced this?  I've been at it for about three hours and am going nowhere fast.

I have the same issue...IP Camera Tool shows nothing and no messages as book lists.  Firewall and antivirus off.  Were you ever to resolve this?  Looks like I'm about 7 months behind you in trying X10.
Thanks
Jim

I have just experienced the same problem. Did anyone ever resolve this? Is it a router problem?
