My PR511 only turns on when someone is
within 3 feet. This is with max
sensitivity, hell any setting it only works
up close. The unit is 8' high, away from
the sun, setup properly for dusk/motion.

what is the air temp when this is happening?
The units sense movement of heat.  If the
outside air temp is even close to body temp
they lose range.  In the summer mine go from
60 feet to 15 with me waving my arms
