Hi,

Wondering if any one tried using the wireless monitor/camera combo to have a portable monitor
to set up X-10 Cam's.  Its feedback says the 'fisheye' of the camera sucks, but I would like a 'portable' hand held monitor. :)

I haven't read anywhere of anyone trying this particular brand/device. I have... purchased an (other than X10) off-brand wireless camera and receiver. What I found was, of the four selectable channels, I did get a picture from one of them. I don't think I got sound. I didn't test that as it's not lawful to "listen" without permission in my state.... so I don't use sound on any of my security cameras.

If you decide to try the device unpack and test it carefully... and save the receipt. You can always return it if it doesn't work. If it works or not.... please let us know.

Thanks for the reply.

I know about the audio, and was not concerned about being able to receive it.
My main objective was to have a small monitor I could have at the camera (when setting them up initially).

I'll update this should I decide to delve into trying it.

Thanks,

I had wanted to get a hand held Monitor/Receiver, and ordered this unit
from Beach Camera.
Works well, and I can switch between the 4 channels.

Check it out.

Update 12/29/07
The website above no longer carries this product.
Swann Mobile Viewer 2.4GHz 2.5 LCD Color Screen 4 Channel Receiver

But you can "google" the product code "SW-G-MVIEW"
and take a look.

As far as I know, the 4 channels on the Monitor do work with X10.

Chris,

That unit looks good.

Do all 4 channels work with the X-10 Cam's?

I think I'm going to try  the portable receiver with 2 wireless camera's at:

Mainly because I have a need for a couple of cameras. :)

Chris,

Were you able to get the SW-G-MVIEW to work with x10 cameras?
