was hoping some one would direct me to a 2-3 camera system for outside use, that i can use, control and record all on my Pc.

If you budget is small, X10 is about the least expansive on the market. Picture quality and light sensitivity isn't as good as the high priced spread but is adequate for surveillance.

Hahaha, I was going to recommend a 1-bay Synology NAS for storage and control of 5-6 IP cams with a license to go with it...

300$ give or take a hundred. Really would like a 2-3 camera for outside use, to record on my PC.

I would say the 4-camera DVR setup is about the best deal out there - About $30 a camera.
