Help
« on: November 17, 2012, 07:30:25 AM »

Hi: I'm just recovering from Hurricane Sandy. Got power back last week. Everything worked fine before I lost power. Now only TM751 works. It works in every room in the house. The interface shows all the other wall switches work, but they don't. I've deleted and reloaded AHP, cleared the interface, and removed the batteries from CM15A. None of that worked. I'm at the end of my rope! Any ideas?
Thank you.

The CM15A can send an RF signal to a TM751 and controls it but power line interfaced devices don't work?
Try and move one of the modules not responding to the same AC outlet as the CM15A and see if it can then be controlled.

Depending on how your power was lost. Mine dipped and spiked many times when Sandy hit my area of CT. Something may have been effected. Making power line noise or maybe your restored power has more noise on it now.
Knowing if a module can be controlled in the same outlet as the CM15A may give us some clues.

Hi Brian: Yes, other modules work on the same line as CM15A.

Thank you.

I presume you have Active Home Pro.   If your computer is working correctly,  It should be able to operate your modules correctly.   As Brian posted when your power went back on there may be noise of some kind on the power line.

Hi Dan: Yes I do have Active Home Pro.
I also have 6 XPPF Plug-In Filter Modules in place as before Sandy.

There must be something else wrong that I'm not thinking of.

Thank you.

Do you have a Passive Coupler or Repeater/Coupler between the incoming power line phases?

Hi: Yes I do, all worked well before Sandy.
I tested the phase issue by turning on my 220V electric oven, no effect at all.

Thank you for trying to help me.

Sorry for the delay in my reply.

So if you try a module on the same circuit as the CM15A it works but not in its normal location.
What type modules are they?
If lamp modules and wall switches. Soft Start where they ramp On and Off or older that snap On and Off?
What revision of AHP do you have in use?

Is the phase coupler a passive one or a repeater/coupler?

Hi Brian: Please that's quite alright. I am greatful for your help. I have  Version 3.318.
Phase Coupler/Repeater XPCR is installed.
Nothing works in it's usual location.
I have old and new switches.

Thank you.

Since you posted you have AHP version 3.18 are your modules properly installed?  There are Soft-Start and standard (old style) modules.

Hi Dan: Yes, I think they are.
Here's a new twist.
All switches and modules will work[ turn on and off ] for a few minutes after a switch is turned on manualy, then stop working!

Thank you.

When you say "manually", do you mean using AHP, or locally at the switch? Multiple switches have this same symptom?

Poltergist(?). Only kidding, but you are describing a very stange problem.

Could it be possible that the S.S. Sandy caused a prolonged brownout?

I agree with you, demons!
I'm ready to chuck the whole system and go with Z-Wave and Mi Casa Verde!
Thank you.

Well I'm still not clear. You turn a light on at the switch and the switch will then work remotely (AHP) for a few minutes??

How many modules do you have? Enough to make a X10 signal level meter worth while investment?
